... stumbled onto this site today. I was an Observer (yes, I am dating myself) in the "Good-Old_Argus Days). Joined the squadron Feb 1973 and left in June 1975 after a Medical Remuster. A lot of good memories, some I would rather forget. I know now I annoyed some people. I had some emotional/mental issues at the time partially caused by excessive use of alcohol, but that is all behind me now. I appologize for any bad behaviour.

I am retired from the Forces since 1993, and currently employed as a Photo-Radar Operator with the Edmonton Police Service. No I am not a cop, work for the Commissionaires contracted to the city and police.

Time to close this, and would like to make contact with old Squadron Mates.

An Interesting Discovery.

Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (symbol=Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected by it's retarded (even completely absent under some conditions) ability to react. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete. Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2 to 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium' s mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes. This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass. When catalyzed with large injections of fiscal elements, Governmentium becomes Administratium (symbol=Ad), an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

Hi,

Does anyone know roughly how well you have to score on the CFAT for the AES OP trade...if ones qualified for example in the electronics tech trades on the CFAT is that a sufficient score...

Does the trade require calculus or is it mostly pre-calculus...

Also, it says AES OP's usually work in the maritime environment...do they ever support land force operations.....Thanks for your help.

A man on his Harley was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, God said, 'because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish.'

The biker pulled over and said, 'Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want.'

God replied, 'Your request is materialistic; think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking; the supports required reaching the bottom of the Pacific and the concrete and steel it would take! I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of something that could possibly help man kind.'

The biker thought about it for a long time. Finally, he said, 'God, I
wish that I , and all men, could understand women; I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, why she snaps and complains when I try to help, and how I can make a woman truly happy.

God replied: "You want two lanes or four on that bridge?"

I was fortunate enough to take part in the 3 helo formation flypast for the IFR and Royal Visit this past week. We came away with quite a few images from the event which I tried to upload here but ran into a few obstacles. For those who are interested in seeing a few of the shots I've uploaded them to Imgur for you to take a look.

http://collude.imgur.com/internation...yal_visit_2010

On a semi-related note, this was my last flight as an AES Op. I've accepted a UTPNCM offer for Air Combat Systems Officer and will be leaving for school in the Fall. My time as an AES Op has been a blast and I wish everyone luck, both those trying to join the trade and those already fortunate enough to serve.

Thanks for everything,
I was wondering if anyone has been there at all. Tried looking a little on the internet not a whole lot of information.
How well equiped are they?
Do they offer storage space?

Any other information would be awesome

If you have information on Shearwater's or Comox's also that would be great.

Also does anyone know why Esquimalt seems to be the only base without a Wood Hobby Club?
Thanks

Hello,

I am very new to the site, actually, I was referred to here by a CF Recruiter, when I asked to get in contact with a actual AESOP. I thought that I was well down the path to becoming one when I started reading more into the forums and found out I still got a ways to go. The trade is closed but I am heading for my CFAT in July. I was given the option many times (when my education level was in questions especially) to change trades. Actually got me seriously considering the Naval Electronic Sensor Operator trade but I decided that the wait is worth it. I have always had a dream growing up of being in airplanes (initially as a pilot) but when it comes down to it I much rather be doing this, or even possibly a SARTECH. I do have some questions though regarding the day to day life of an AESOP. Really hope I am given the opportunity to become an AESOP!!

MDA is looking for 2 Heron Payload Operator Instructors for our Heron UAV contract with Australia and possibly Canada. The details are here on the MDA Website. http://www.mdacorporation.com/careers/jobs/postings/T1042.cfm
