BB,
Actually, with Will being untrainied (hasn't even started/completed) BMQ yet, I wouldn't be surprised if his file was treated more with the *new applicant off the street* process. In order to be eliglible for an OT under COTP, you have to meet certain requirements that he wouldn't meet. Being a reservist, he couldn't even apply for a MOC reassignment under CFAO 11-12. The selection boards for CTs who are coming in under COTP is usually sat in the Jan/Feb timeframe. But as Will is a completely untrained Pte in the PRes, I'd bet my $20 on Will being handled more like a DE. The *untrained* factor makes his situation outside the normal. |

Thanks guys. I appreciate the insight. Looking forward to getting started. Let's hope for a smooth transition - and no hiccups with the medical!

It took me a while but I finally submitted my CT application to AES Op. There was a bit of confusion in my unit's OR as they thought I had to be QL3 qualified to CT. I submitted my application anyway and selected Pte(R) as my rank. It doesn't make any sense to me why you would need to be QL3 qualified to CT. Releasing and joining the RegF just doesn't seem right.
Anyway, I hope the confirmation email comes soon! |

Good luck Will84, I just sent my CT in not too long ago and I'm in the same position as you I'm just waiting to hear from someone in Ottawa to book my interview and my medical.

I'm off to a bad start with my CT. I applied April 1 and received an email from Ottawa on April 2 saying they couldn't find me in their system. I checked with my OR who didn't have any answers. I went into to the recruiting centre to find out if they had any more information and it turns out they never received my enrollment documents. They gave me a form and highlighted the areas that needed to be filled out and returned. I had it filled out and asked my unit to fax it to the recruiting centre asap (politely of course
I hope RegF units are more organized than this! I am close to releasing and applying as a civy. |

I wouldn't be too quick in jumping to the release/civillian application process though. Maybe a few folks could add their experience to the discussion, but I believe the CT to AES Op process has worked well for quite a few people. I'd suggest politely following up (every few days if needed) to find out what that status of your file is. Be sure to make them aware that your CT application is waiting for the processing of your enrolment paperwork.

After a few polite follow up calls my CT application has finally been confirmed.

If there are no AES Op positions available, will CT applicants be processed, or will our applications be put on hold until positions open?
Thanks |
